What is an SPV?
A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is a legal structure — often a limited partnership — created to pool multiple investors into a single investment. Instead of each investor owning shares directly, the SPV owns the shares and investors own units in the SPV.
Why are SPVs used?
- Simplification — The company only needs to manage one shareholder (the SPV) instead of dozens
- Accessibility — Enables lower minimum investment amounts
- Strata — Accumeo's SPV service Strata handles administration, reporting, and legal matters
